We are currently open recruiting for the upcoming MMO Earthrise

Pre launch and Pre Beta leadership will review new candidates and make decisions from there. This will change as the game moves closer to launch. If we like your app we will contact you first via pm. Afterwords you will be invited to chat with us in vent. All new members are on a trial basis. We are an EST PVP Centric guild. Teamwork is key. No sh*t talk. No Drama. No Drama. That means if you generate bullshit you will be gone. no exceptions.


We do not PvE Raid, as our focus has always been PvP. This may be an option in the future but that would only happen after we have killed everyone on the server.

5: Have you ever been in a team orientated PvP guild? If so, which guilds: The only strictly PvP guild I have ever been a part of was Xenotech Ventures, a corporation in EVE Online; although, I have been in many a guild which has partaken in PvP.

6: Please List MMO’s You have Played and for Roughly How Long: EverQuest - from original launch to Gates of Discord expansion, then on and off after that, but never again too seriously. DAoC - probably about a year until... SWG - Somewhere close to 1.5 years. WoW (unfortunately) - From launch to about 2 years ago. EVE Online - about 2 years. (these are very rough estimates)

7: What are your in-game goals other than PVP: Roleplaying, and crafting.

12: Are there areas of game play you feel you could improve in, if so what? I don't mean to imply that I am not a team player, on the contrary I feel that is one of my strengths, but I've only scarcely been involved on the front lines in PvP combat.

13: What are your intentions for crafting ER, what is your previous MMO crafting experience (WoW crafting doesnt count) I actually intend to make crafting my main primary focus in Earthrise, which I hope is not a problem. I'll have to spend a good amount of time in PvE to make this possible, but would certainly answer the call to arms whenever it was made. I trust you could see the benefits any band of mercenaries would recieve from having their own "smith" to keep their weapons and armor in tip-top shape. I have always had a character at one point in every MMORPG that I have ever played who was a dedicated crafter, I feel this is my expertise.

15: Is there anything else you'd like to tell us? Or any additional comments? I am a dedicated roleplayer, and try to be in character whenever possible (I do not apply this to "guild chat"). Typically when I look into a new MMORPG I hold off on joining a guild until I find a responsible RP guild to join the ranks of; however, I feel that the RP community will not be strong enough to establish anything for me to accomplish what I wish to on the scale of my intentions. Having said that, what I look for in a guild before seriously considering joining them (or filling out an application) is their sense of community, maturity, dedication, and motivation - all of which I feel Gallowglass has proven to posses.

Other than that, I'm just a really laid back guy who's looking to get the most out of an MMORPG by sharing the experience with a close-knit band of brothers and sisters in arms.

I usually use ingame name Alyas or variations of it. Sometimes I use Lyla.
About skill set, there ain't enough informantion atm to elaborate, but I always play support characters as long as those are not destroyed by the usually called "healbot" mechanics... On those games I either quit or reroll some sort of magic/telepatic ranged caster. From what I know about Earthrise I don't expect that to be an issue

This was my major concern about Gallowglass since my playtime during the week is uncommon, and thats the reason why I PM'ed "Postman" on the ER official forums back in April 2009.
After we changed a couple PMs, Postman gave me the confidence that our schedules could in fact be compatible, at least much more than the primetime of UK and most EU based clans.

I'm in Lisbon, Portugal (GMT+0). I never come out from the office before 8pm (GMT+0) which means I will very unlikely be playing before 10pm here (5pm EST). Unfortunately during the week I got to go back to the office in the morning, so I usually play until 2am (9pm EST), but occasionally on weekends I have no issues playing until 12am EST.

5: Have you ever been in a team orientated PvP guild? If so, which guilds:
Most recent PvP presence I had on mmorpgs was AoC for some months where I played Bear Shaman Lyla on Strenght & Honour guild.
After that I moved to WAR due to the hundreds of bugs on Conan, and on WAR I played a DoK named Lyla on D E C A D E N C E guild.
After WAR I've mostly been waiting for Earthrise and trying several other games during very short stays.
At the moment I'm mostly playing offline games, some mmo betas, and now also got into the recently released Global Agenda where I play Medic named Alyas.

MMOs I played:
- UO played for more than 1 year but only occasionally, with some college friends because at that time we only had 28.8k/56k modems and disconnects were often. We never joined any other groups because of the mentioned connection problems, so we mainly acted as the occasional gank squad (shame on us, but at that time playing online was the main feature that got us to UO, so I guess occasional ganking was enough fun :P )
- SWG (again, not a solid presence for the same reason as UO: connection was not good enough.)
- WoW: this one was released exactly by the time ADSL and Cable where spreading in Portugal so I finally could have a solid presence online. Unfortunately Blizzard destroyed world pvp a few months after release by implementing BGs and stupid PvP gear grinds... so I swapped to pve raiding, raided hardcore for a while, and eventually got bored of the game before TBC release.
- Moved to LotrO, quited after leveling process due to lack of PvP.
- Moved to TR and same thing: quit after some capped toons due to the limitations on pvp, lack of content and major bugs (anyone remembers Mires lag? the almost non-existing crafting? etc) Despite that, I had lots of fun with my Engineer and my Medic and I still hold TR as the mmo with highest potential ever created. I blame NCsoft for not funding it properly and making it bleed to death.
- Tried several mmos after TR but for short 2-4 months periods: VG, Ryzom, Fallen Earth (tested since alfa, but not enough pvp usually leads me to boredom, hence the reason not to acquire it after more than 1 year testing), EVE (only done trials 2 times. Not convincing because I do require a walking character, not a spaceship in almost black scenery - a mater of taste...), Champions Online, CoX, and the list goes on but the only presence worth mentioning was written in question 5.

Never tried Darkfall because of an unconvincing release and me being one of the naive Mortal Online Batch A owners that wasted 70€... Atm I'm not sure it's worth buying DF since Earthrise release is near, but if I ever find someone to trade a DF account for my boxed version of MO then I would sure show up there

7: What are your in-game goals other than PVP:
PvP is my main focus because it's the one thing that stops me from getting bored of the natural repetition mechanics of all mmos.
Despite that I'm interested in almost everything about ER.
I will focus on developing up a useful set of skill adequate to support duty (hp/shield regen tools and skills) with some fast ranged offensive capacity (just light rapid weapons or shotgun-like weapons, and some minor crowd control).
Paired with that I would like to give bounty hunting a try and I will focus on a couple of crafting specializations.
I do not refuse pve, actually I do enjoy very much the thrill of doing some pve in groups with the risk of the open pvp ffa. This is the only way I can have fun grinding. To quote a recent example, I loved the Epic Kheshatta T0 grind in AoC, it was a lot of fun grinding pve bosses in the middle of some huge group fights
Finally, the ultimate goal is to have a Mech to go to that central poisonous area, and hold a good share of the conquerable territory, ofc

Btw, I'm not interested in focusing on Criminal status.
From what I understood GallowGlass will side with either Continoma or Noir, but if I misunderstood and you are planing on going Criminal please let me know because in that case I might have to reconsider this application

Offcourse. I don't just choose guilds/clans by their names or logos, and I think that was clear when I first contacted Postman almost 1 year ago

There is always room for improvement (and I don't mean character improvement, I mean my knowledge and skills). If that was not the case I guess the game would become boring quite fast...
To know exactly what I need to improve for ER gameplay I would have to play it first

13: What are your intentions for crafting ER, what is your previous MMO crafting experience (WoW crafting doesnt count)
I usually pick either armor related tradeskills or temporary buff related tradeskills (cooking, alchemy, and similar)
I don't know all the specifics about ER tradeskill options yet, so I have to postpone any details for later when I get to play it. Thats good news for Gallowglass if you decide to accept me because that means I will focus what what my guild is lacking most at the time

My crafting experience includes the best mmos in this matter:
- SWG (never managed to have a shop due to the restrictions mentioned)
- Vanguard (love the depth of it - dedicated crafting sphere of development, and the minigame attached to it )
- Ryzom (probably the best gathering and crafting mechanic, to bad for the lack of different gear models)
- Fallen Earth (no retail experience but a lot of crafting done during more than 1 year as a tester, including the crafting of my 1st ATV which was awesome)

Just to clarify why I'm posting this application only 1year after 1st talking to Postman:
I don't usually apply to guilds/clans before game is released.
Information before release is usually never enough to be 100% sure that the we will in fact like the game, nor to be sure that we share common ingame beliefs and objectives.
Since the game was postponed without a defined milestone, I decided it was not the right time to commit myself to any ER guild.
I'm not a guild swapper, so I like to be absolutely sure before I apply to some guild and dedicate myself to it.

The information about ER is much more and the game looks more and more like what I'm looking for, so I have no doubts that I will be acquiring this one on release.
Release day is probably 6 months from now, so it's now the time to settle with some guild and start to know each other better.

Yesterday I met GlassIceman on Global Agenda wearing the GallowGlass tag, so I figured Global Agenda could be a starting point to get to know you guys better (possibly have some chatting on Vent/TS or even play GA together until ER releases) thus the reason to post this application.

WoW from day 1 for a few years. Tabulas Rasa,a few months. AoC, a few months. Silk Road online, just to kill time a few days. Vanguard, a month or two. WAR, a few months.

I like to gather for some reason. But my main goal is to talk and listen to vent to make my and others gaming experience more fun. Without vent I dont think I would play games.

I am not the best at anything. I have pretty much always been just an average player, and person. But I enjoy playing games with people, and I pretty much always just give my stuff away to people who need . I know some of Glass already. If I haven't annoyed the shit out of them in vent yet...

Just want to say that I have a seriously loyal guild persona. I have NEVER left a guild, nor have been kicked out (except week one of Darkfall (ruiend my streak (they where assholes anyway))) ,that I have joined in ANY of my MMO games. I have been in Grief since week one or two of Darkfall on EU. If Earthrise is good I can see stopping Darkfall, if it isn't my thing (I love sci-fi shooters) then Ill go back to Darkfall.

5: Have you ever been in a team orientated PvP guild? If so, which guilds: Yes. I play Darkfall at the moment. I was SG of my own clan ("Flargin and Dingle"-EU and "The Mooninites"-NA) of 4 members that focused solely on small scale PVP and am currently a member of Grief.

WoW - 4 years longer than I would like to admit.
Darkfall - 1 year.

My main goal is to enjoy the game. I don't like losing but you can't win at everything. Beyond that I don't set long term goals in games, just gets in the way of the fun part. My secondary goal is to stay competitive in character development.
